J. R. R. Tolkiens The Hobbit
When Tolkien first wrote this book he only done it for a bedtime story for his son Christopher Tolkien. He had started it off in the university where he worked. This book when published grasped hold and drew people into the book, kids and adults alike. The Hobbit led right up to the writing of The Lord of the Rings, the sequel, but not the second best as I will explain on custom page 3. This book is one of my all time favourites, so if you havent read it yourself or to your kids then you are missing something special. |
